Concealed Guns on College Campuses
What do voters think?
Public opinion on concealed guns on college campuses has been measured several times in the last few years both in Colorado and nationally. The results have been remarkably consistent. Several credible polls have been taken asking voters if they support or oppose allowing concealed guns to be carried on college campuses.
Polls show that well over 60% of voters oppose laws allowing concealed guns on college campuses. Following are results of polls taken both before and after the tragic shootings at the Aurora movie theater on July 20, 2012 and at Sandy Hook Elementary School December 14, 2012.
February 2011 - Colorado poll, 600 registered voters, 62% oppose allowing concealed guns on college campuses

January 2012 - Colorado poll, 905 registered voters, 65% in favor of banning concealed guns on college campuses.

April 2013 - National Survey, 1000 registered voters, 75% feel safer on a college campus if students are not permitted to carry guns.
